Vestigio (iPhone app) Last updated: November 2, 2026

This page explains how Vestigio (“the app”) handles your information. The app is developed independently by Takuro Koyanagi (“the developer”).

Photo library access

The app reads where each photo was taken to find its municipality. This happens on your device. Your photos and location data are not sent to the developer’s servers or to outside services.

Information stored on your device

The following is stored only on your device. There is no account, and your name and email address are not collected.

Coordinates are kept so the municipality can be checked again when boundary data is updated. This information is included in iPhone backups (iCloud or computer). The app has no iCloud sync feature. Deleting the app deletes this information from your device. Photos in the Photos app are not deleted.

Share images and videos

These are created only when you use the share screen, and they are saved or sent only where you choose. Photo coordinates are not included. Depending on the design, they may include the map and your progress, photos, municipality names, and dates taken. Place names and dates can be hidden.

The text passed along when you share and the file’s description contain the app name and the map data source.

Vestigio Pro purchase

The in-app purchase Vestigio Pro (a one-time purchase, ¥800 in Japan) is processed by Apple’s App Store. The developer does not receive payment information such as card numbers. Your purchase status is checked on your device using Apple’s system.

Network use

All map data is included in the app, and the app does not communicate with the developer’s servers. Network use happens only in these cases:

Ads and analytics

The app shows no ads and includes no analytics.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page will be updated.
